Years after calling it a day with his band Dire Straits, guitarist Mark Knopfler stepped back into the spotlight as a solo artist, recording a span of solo albums that featured his inimitable six-string style. Now, 25 years after the release of that first solo LP, he's collecting his first five albums together - plus a collection of rarities - together in a new box set.

The Studio Albums 1996-2007, available Dec. 10 as a 6CD or 11LP set, features the albums Golden Heart (1996), Sailing to Philadelphia (2000), The Ragpicker’s Dream (2002), Shangri-La (2004), and Kill to Get Crimson (2007) - all newly remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. (The first two, featuring guest vocals by Van Morrison, James Taylor, Vince Gill and Chris Difford & Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, receive their vinyl premieres in this set.)
Also making its debut as a collection in this set is Gravy Train: The B-Sides 1996-2007, a disc of nine non-album cuts from the same era. The package is rounded out with a set of frameable prints of each album cover.
