The Doobie Brothers are "Takin' it to the Streets" in 2020. The 2019 Rock Hall of Fame nominees have revealed that Michael McDonald will rejoin the band for a 50th anniversary tour next year.
Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons, John McFee and McDonald will be the core group hitting the road in 2020 in honor of 50 years of the Doobie Brothers. The band made the big reveal during a show in Nashville, TN, this week at the legendary Ryman Auditorium where they performed classic albums Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me. They ended the show with a surprise appearance by McDonald, who joined the band for "Takin' it to the Streets."
The 50th anniversary tour kicks off June 9, 2020, in West Palm Beach, with shows scheduled through October 10, when the run winds up in Houston, TX. See the complete tour itinerary below.
“We're truly excited about our 50th Anniversary Tour, as it's a celebration of the band’s entire history," Johnston said in a press statement. "We'll be performing songs from our full catalog, as well as new music.”
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the public on Friday, Dec. 6. Get more details here.
